This organization is composed of women who value academic excellence, professional growth, leadership, womanhood, and community service. This program focuses on encouraging and motivating women to establish and use leadership skills that will not only enhance themselves, but all those they come in contact with. Our primary goal is not only to succeed in all endeavors, but to excel beyond the typical expectations of the norm. Membership is composed of women who will commit their time, energy, and resources to fulfill the goals and objectives of the program.

History

In 2009, Joy Kimble, a student on the campus of Mississippi State University, observed that there was not an organization on campus that equipped females to pursure and fulfill leadership roles. Mrs. Kimble brought this observation to the attention of Mrs. Ra'Sheda Forbes, and together, they decided to take action. As a result, Mrs. Kimble and Mrs. Forbes generated the vision of the organization that we now call I.D.E.A.L. Woman. The acronym for I.D.E.A.L., Intelligent, Dignified, Elegant, Ambitious, Leaders, embodies the expectations that Mrs. Kimble and Mrs. Forbes set for the members of the organization. When one thinks of I.D.E.A.L. Woman, they think of a confident, self-motivated, educated, young woman who leads by example in every aspect of her life.

Furthermore, the I.D.E.A.L. Woman Program has impacted many lives since its establishment in 2009 and is continuing to grow and expand. We are thankful and inspired by the vision that Mrs. Kimble and Mrs. Forbes had for this organization, and it is our primary duty to ensure that it continues to flourish. As I.D.E.A.L. Woman, we want to remain a positive light on the campus of Mississippi State University and continue to uphold the principles of our motto, "Excelling above the typical expectations of the norm."
